About the Morris Group of Companies
The foundation for the Morris Group of Companies was laid in Guelph, Ontario when a 21 year old Walt Morris started selling cars at a small Mazda store. He was a success at it and then moved to Winnipeg for bigger and better opportunities in 1993.
In 2000, Walt was given the opportunity to become the Vice President / General Manager at a large local Dodge Chrysler Jeep dealership. Under his leadership, dedication and experience, the dealership became and remained the largest on the Prairies.
In January 2005, he purchased a major dealership, then in 2007 built Winnipeg Collision & Glass Centre and in April 2009 the Red River Co-op Speedway was added to his growing group of companies.
Winnipeg Suzuki Supercentre in the Waverley Automall entered the fold in September 2011 and has since transitioned into the Walt Morris Preowned Automotive Supercentre.
Exclusive Bus Lines was added to the Group and made its inaugural run in 2012. Kenora Chevrolet Buick GMC was a welcome addition to the family in 2016 and in late 2017 the Morris Group brought a new level of luxury to Winnipeg with the launch of Alfa Romeo of Winnipeg in the Waverley Automall. Maserati of Winnipeg became part of the group in early 2018 and operations in Kenora also expanded that year with the addition of Kenora Honda.
After some corporate evolution, the Morris Group today consists of Maserati of Winnipeg, Alfa Romeo of Winnipeg, Kenora Chevrolet Buick GMC, Kenora Honda, Exclusive Bus Lines, Walt Morris Preowned Supercentre, Red River Co-op Speedway, Headingley West Storage and Exclusive Car & Truck Wash (a division of Exclusive Bus Lines). The Morris Group of Companies employs over 200 people, including Walt’s sons Brendan (General Manager, Kenora Chevrolet Buick GMC) and Jared (Sales Manager, Maserati of Winnipeg / Alfa Romeo of Winnipeg) and brother Wade (Vice President, Morris Group of Companies / Exclusive Bus Lines).
“I am so very grateful and proud of our stellar employees and their families. Without their dedication and commitment, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I also appreciate every one of our loyal customers who continue to come to our companies for their needs.” – Walt Morris
